Recently, I found my limited space on my 8GB Iphone even more restricted by 2GB of space in the OTHER category. This stumped me for a while. I had removed all music off my Iphone, and had only left photos, and audio and video podcasts. I decided to use WinSCP and navigated to the /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music folder and found a bunch of folders. I decided to delete all of the files and folders in the /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music folder. I re-connected my Iphone to my computer and Synced. The 2GB of missing space had been recovered.. Problem Solved!! Resolution (If Jailbroken Iphone). > Delete all files from the /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music folder using WinSCP. Resolution (If Not Jailbroken) > Restore your Iphone..
