This may be encountered while trying to view DVR cameras over the internet using Internet Explorer. To solve, use the following steps.
Download the browser : Maxthon http://www.maxthon.com
Choose the Classic version. Then go to DVR website
Install the ActiveX that is required.
By default Internet Explorer disable running unsigned ActiveX controls. While this is an important security measure on the Internet Explorer browser, if you are sure that the website is a trusted one then you can temporarily disable this security feature to get the website to run the required ActiveX and later on re-enable the security.
1. Open internet explorer, click Tools – Internet Options .
2. Click the Security tab – Custom Level button.
3. Under ActiveX ensure the following are set to enabled a. Run ActiveX and plug-ins – Enabled b. Download Signed ActiveX Control – Enabled c. Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting – Enabled
4. Set the following to “Prompt ” a. Download unsigned ActiveX Control – Prompt b. Initialize and script ActiveX controls not mark as safe – Prompt
5. Click OK and Apply and OK.
6. Restart the browser.
You should now be able to run ActiveX control on the website and download the software.
