There’s a sinking feeling that overwhelms you when you realized you have done the impossible: Bricked a Galaxy S!!! I used Odin to install a rom on the Galaxy, selected all the options including Re-Partition, selected a pit but no PDA. After pressing start, the operation ran for a few seconds then the phone when dead. And I mean dead: nothing, would not turn on, just a black screen.
The log looks something like this:

So you just flashed a pit file with re-partition and no PDA, PHONE, or CSC file?
Then try this….
Take the battery out. Hold the power button for 5-10 seconds.
Put the battery back in, and hold the download mode sequence for up to a minute. (it took me just 20 seconds!!)
If it kicks into download mode, you are back in business!!!!!

Vol down + power + Home
nothing worked, i tried to keep pressing, connected the usb and removed the battery
with several ways, and nothing worked
will the jig help?

/ September 20, 2011the jig would help, but I’m surprised you didnt get it to work. Give it one more try, remember to remove the battery, and hold the power button while the battery is out..

/ September 27, 2011Once you have reached this stage you are already to go… You can now use Odin to install your rom, just make sure that PDA is selected this time!!!

I tried flashing my phone and had the same log as you mentioned. HOwever now that my phone is totally blacked out and could not be on. I”ve tried the method you advice but still not working. KIndly advice.

/ October 9, 2011ahhh, it would seem that download mode was disabled. This can be changed but you need to have the phone working. Since all else seem to fail, try taking it back to your mobile operator, if its still under warranty.

/ January 6, 2012i need your help, my phone totally cant boot up after i tried to flash using ICS, i didnt thick pit file, i just odin it with phone, csc, pda .
after fail in the middle and hung i took of battery and the fone are no longer able to turn on. when i connect to the pc, the pc detect my usb and trying to install however it failed to detect driver, i tried to download the driver but not working as well. i tried to follow the step u’ve advised but i cant even enter the download mode. appreciate if you can help me solve this.
